I have the premium system in my 2007 V8 Vantage. It is a very good system. I have driven a number of Aston models with the B&O system (including a certain lightning silver V8 Vantage) and don't think it is any better than the premium system. I would never pay the extra money in a new car and wouldn't pay anything extra for it in a used car. The extra "lump in the trunk" is undesirable to me as well.

So.... did the responses help at all? Those w/o the B&O largely say they wouldn't spring for it and those of us with the B&O love it. Not surprising comments I guess?

Ultimately, it comes down to whether or not YOU want to pay for it.

Good luck.

I have had both in the two Vantages I have owned. For the money, the premium system is the way to go. When I first listened to the premium in my old Vantage, I was very pleasantly surprised.

The B&O sounds fantastic and has the "cool" factor but I'd be lying if I said there was a significant difference up from the Premium ... certainly not $7k worth.

One thing perhaps worth noting: Many of us with Vantages say the premium system (Alpine, I believe) is comparable to the B&O, so the B&O isn't worth the extra money. However, in a long-wheelbase AM, perhaps the B&O is worth the extra?

I have it in my Rapide - it does sound fantastic in my opinion - looks great too. Having said that - I often prefer to listen to the sound of the Rapide than music - but I am happy that I have it.

i think that's what it really boils down to. for a Vantage, the B&O system is an exercise in diminishing returns. but for a DB9/DBS/Virage, maybe there's a bit more difference.

Can you or anyone else with the B&0 system post a pic of the trunk difference? Is it a sub woofer that makes the "bump"? Will golf clubs still fit

Here is a link to pictures of a Vantage with the B&O system. One of the later pictures shows the trunk. Notice the uneven upper area of the trunk. I believe this is for the B&O amplifier.

Golf clubs definitely still fit. Although I love the b&o system, I honestly don't listen to it much so would never have checked that box as an option. If it were a daily driver, I would recommend it. However, as a third fun car, I much prefer the car's glorious natural soundtrack.

Henry, thanks kindly for taking the time. I did search cars for sale but did not find the pic. Helps alot. Loss is not that much, esp. if it does not involve the main trunk cavity. Not much fits up on the that shelf anyway.

With you on that one, although I do like some good music sometimes. I have the premium system and it sounds great. Have not heard the B&O system yet. Seems like a pretty mixed review in the vantage.

btw, how does the flame orange differ from the madagascar orange?

I am currently in the process of having my early model 9 completely retrofitted with aftermarket sub, speakers, amps and controls. Total cost about 8k. Wow, this was an expensive lesson.

Flame orange is a lot more red than Madagascar orange. Indoors it's hard to tell its even orange. In sunlight the orange really pops, making it a very distinct color. Can't go wrong with either though.
