Annual Service Recommendations

Do you recommend annual service for your AM no matter the mileage driven on the vehicle? I've only driven the vehicle 2,000 miles the past year but my annual service is coming up. Let me know your thoughts.

I would, yes. For an Aston or any other exotic. It's good to get a once over and fluids changed if needed.
Also, if you ever decide to sell, future owners like to see that it's been serviced regularly.

Absolutely. Service is for mileage or time, whichever comes first. Otherwise, as little as some people drive they've cars, they wouldn't see any service for years.

BTW: when is this: "Vorsteiner Aero Package (coming soon)" going to finally be done? It's been on your sig for well over a year. I want pics!

Another "yes." I'm going to be taking mine in for it's annual service and have put on less than 3000 miles since last year.

The Oil recommended for our Vantage V8s has always been "Castrol Edge Sport 10-60", but I'm having a hard time finding it. Castrol has several varients of Castrol-Edge, but it appears they have dropped "Sport" and replaced it with "Professional". Castrol Edge Professional is what the local BMW dealer now carries, where they carried "Sport" before.
Anyone else have the same problem locating Castrol Edge Sport?

I personally think if you have done less then a 1000 or so miles you could skip 1 oil change.

As a mechanic once said to me, "Oil's cheap, engines are expensive." It can get contaminated. I wouldn't skip an annual change.

Mainly combustion by-products and condensation. As for being a sealed engine, it's constantly sucking in a lot of air.

The oil filter is designed to remove combustion by-products etc.

Oil filters, air filters, rings etc. aren't perfect but it's your engine and your money. Do what ever you like with them.

The oil filter is designed to remove particulate matter larger than a given size that is in suspension in the oil. It does nothing to restore the original chemistry of the oil.

It's like running sewage water through a colander (strainer) to remove any solids. Yes, it might not have any chunks in it, but I sure wouldn't want to drink it.
