Is it normal to have rock pits behind the door at the rear wheel well? Where the body flares out right behind the door? I just had the car wash and notice many little rock pits? Wanted to know if this is common on other cars since the rear is flared out.

 

Very common to have clear bra material there to prevent the stone chips

 

Some owners also installed the stone chip guard to minimize the damage

 

My car has chronic chipping going on in that area of the car.... This despite the front stone chip guards installed.

 

I must say mine has the "belt and suspenders" method. Front chip guards and clear bra on the rear fender

 

Yes, this area is very susceptible to rock chips as the body panel slopes inward allowing for rocks to be kicked up directly at it from the tires. Have paint protection film applied to this area and you will be ok
