is now a good time to buy 2013 model?

Many dealers are clearing out their 2013 models to make way for 2014 models. I'm thinking about a 6 speed manual v8 vantage finally and not really sure what is new/standard on the 2014 to make it worth paying the premium on the 2014. I've seen most sticker prices about $125k for the ones they are trying to do deals on. Most of these don't have sports package with the 10 spoke diamond-turned wheels and are missing some options like memory seats. They are usually colors like tungsten or the darker silver color. I have noticed that msrp is lower now than what they were in 09-11. I think that's because a lot of options became standard recently.

I'd like to hear any stories of getting great deals. What sticker was and what you ended up paying. If anyone got any deals for under $99k, I'd love to hear what dealer and what you got. Thanks guys.

^^^ I don't think you stand any chance of finding a 2013MY for under $99K when they sticker for over 125.

Yeah, $112k - $117k is more likely for a manual transmission coupe with black interior and a basic paint color like Tungsten or Silver.

I don't know of many 13s left but yes, during my shopping, I've found dealers eager to make a '13 attractive to me.

I spoke to a few folks here who got a smoking deal under $98k new (msrp in the $125-135k). There's got to be more out there. When are they usually completely out of 2013 models? When do they sell it by?

I'm sure these "bargains" will be without the most desirable options. By the time you retrofit options etc will it really be worth it??

The 2013 already come with a lot of standard equipment like navi, bluetooth, front/rear parking sensors, powerfold mirrors, all which were options before. I believe memory and heated seats and clear tail lights are still options, which isn't a huge deal.

Aston Marketing

I believe AM North America, at a recent well attended sales meeting in Mexico, announced financial support of a $99K retail price for what amounts to in stock, minimally optioned cars, as described above.

Background: Cold climate dealers desperately want to avoid the floor plan costs of carrying "last year's cars" through the winter. In our market expensive, sporty car sales virtually stop from Halloween through Easter. The poor southeast Michigan economic climate, which persists despite the auto industry volume rebound, does not help.

Under $100K is a great reason to buy and enjoy an AM. Why wait? 13's are well equipped. Of course here in FL we have no snowy season....

Just paid 100k on 134k sticker ... Black on black, 3 pedals .. Memory seats, special paint, red calipers, and a friggen umbrella

The 13's are already nicely optioned as stated above so I am happy...

My guess is that there 13's are almost gone from the lots ... So grab what you can

Carryover 2013 Vantages

Make an offer on the car you want, let them evaluate it. It is still a "horse trading" business. In my experience face to face is best. 2013s are a bargain and 2014s do not seem to offer much new.

I too am looking for 2013 clear out models. There are still a few dealers that are doing 25-30k off msrp. However, when I call out of my state dealers, they said they don't like to sell out of state. I don't get this. People order cars all the time and ship them cross country. Something about program money having to stay within a territory. Is it just BS? Or should I have a local dealer trade their car for theirs and then have them give me the incentive. Are AM different in how they sell??

Another 2013 alternative

Call AM of Troy (Suburban Detroit). They have 1 new Tungsten/Obsidium/6Spd 2013 Vantage Coupe at $99K. Its been offered to two people I know, unsuccessfully.
A clean deal (no trade in) works best as it minimizes artful price manipulation.
They are motivated...there are 2014s on the showroom floor and winter can start here at any minute.
Another route you might try is to call AM North America, Marketing (CA?) to see if they will confirm/deny the $99K restriction by territory.
Knowledge is power!

PS: Dealer trades require 2 willing participants.

They have to be doing these deals as the 07-09 prices are dropping like a stone over the last two or three months out here in Cali.

Almost 10-15K down for desirable colors and well optioned cars.

They are asking $97k now.

Seems overall cheaper to own with warranty, new clutch, tires brakes ect than a used 2009.
