DB9 Auto Harsh Gear Shift
DB9 Auto Harsh Gear Shift
I have a 2005 DB9 TT2 which has a very harsh gear shift.
There maybe a link to an oil cooler pipe failure.
The car did not loose all of it's oil but we did not measure what was left!
We fitted aeroquip pipe and refilled the transmission with the OE oil, following the workshop manual process.
The shifts were initially very slurred but this cleared leaving a really harsh gear shift. However the car has done about 5k Mls like this now!!
The car has 2 fault codes showing on the transmission, P0705 Trans range sen
and P0736 torque converter slip ratio.
We quizzed an AM tech who suggested a potential Torque Converter fault after loss of fluid.
Has any one experienced this and got any idea's or experiences to share?

If any one can sort it they can
What fluid did you use(I know you said OE, but what name was in the bottle or even part#) and how did you use to monitor the thermostat opening for the transcooler fluid...if u don't monitor ans fill at the correct temp, your level will be incorrect and concerns like urs will rise. The ZF 6-speed like in the DB9 are known to shift hard if even 0.5L under filled..Land Rovers, Jags are notorious for this also..
