Keep the wheels or change it?

Hello,

I think I still have an opportunity to change the wheels ..since early in the game.
Is it ok...or too aggressive?

Standard OEM setup
wheel 8.5x19 9.5x19
tire 235/40 R19 275/35 R19
offset +46 +59 <-- I think

New Setup
wheel 9 x 20 10.5 x 20
tire 245/35 R20 275/35/20 <-- went up to 35 on rear to fill out well
offset +35 +45

Please just ignore the lipstick for those not too fond of that...

Any feedback positive or negative is welcome.

Well, the rear tyre definitely fills the arch. Are you sure that it won't rub under even normal driving - the diameter is about 25mm larger than the OEM tyre?

The wheels themselves look okay,...I feel a little ambivalent about their appearance for some reason...perhaps because it is a little difficult to see past the lipstick!

Looks great but I found 20 inch wheel comprised the ride quality too much. There again I sometime yearn for 18 inch wheels for a better ride ( I think my 7 series is spoiling me ) .

Thanks for all the suggestions good and bad. Keep them coming....

Vergis and FF
I cant really drive it around yet...too much snow on the ground.
And if I drive it I don't think I can return it.
So I cant tell ride compromise or any rubbing.

My wife's first comment in seeing ... something is odd.. She did not say that when I did a wheel change to the last car..Maserati

This is still work in progress.

race cats, fuse 22, performance filter done

Still to be done:
CF splitter
CF diffuser
CF Trunk lip
CF side strakes
Eurocharged V2 Tune

Here's what's 'odd'. More space above front wheels than rear wheels. Go back to a 30 series rear and it'll look more balanced.

You could go to the 18" GT4 race wheels made by OZ...they look amazing on a Vantage. Check out my thread to see them on a DB9 and V8V...but you will lose turning radius as you have to shorten the steering lock adjustment.

To original poster...I am not a bigger is better aficionado...ride quality, clearance. People do this because they like the way it looks... as far as lipstick is concerned, some girls look better without it as their natural beauty speaks for itself... ;>)

I'm not a fan of the wheels. I'd rather see the DB9 wheels on the car (like another member did)... or Vantage S wheels if you can find them. I like the red lip-stick but the other red high-lights are meh... One thing is certain...

They don't fit bad, they are just kinda... boring. I dont think the fit the feel of aston. Dont get me wrong I am not bashing you, just not the type of wheels I think of when someone says AM

Forgot to upload the full rear.

Please note there was an intent for the car to stand out differently...hence the lipstick and other things.
When leading the pack in cruises I had to make sure the car looked a bit different than the standard fare AMs in the group.
Just in case the other grey AMs left the pack earlier and started take a bunch of cars with them in the middle of the cruise.

It did happen once during a meet a few years back where a group of cars followed the wrong leader in a 911 (instead of pulling over on the shoulder to let the other cars pass and continue with the group). The 911 took a bunch of cars towards their home. I had made a rule that if that happens again the perpetrator would need to feed all people that followed them home.

I would never have that problem with mine as I have never seen another one in my color...and there just aren't that many over here...

Not sure if you wanted feedback on the wrapping scheme or not, but here goes . . . I think the lipstick is a nice way of adding a little flair, but the other red pieces detract from the look of the car IMO. When I first saw the pics, I thought you were having the whole car wrapped but they just hadn't finished yet.

Initially I was going to wrap the car like I did with my last Maserati in full Matte Black.

My wife still wasn't convince a full wrap is the way to go with this car.

Attached is the last car fully matte wrap.

Also the color scheme I wanted to do the Vantage but didnt get the green light from the wife ... yet......

Nice trade up to the Aston from the Maser. Is that your 12c to the tight?
