Thanks for the detailed review. Seems they greatly updated the SS transmission... how would you compare it with ASM1 and/or ASM2?

Did you find when shifting manually under part throttle that a lift on the accelerator helped smooth things out?
Interesting because with SMG's I would do a slight lift to smooth the jerkiness with aggressive driving.
With the SSIIII, I felt no need to lift at all, even with aggressive driving. I do not lift with the Scud F1 either and in the 60 ms shift, you can feel a slight jolt. I do not feel a jolt with the SSIII - it is smoother than the F1 but slightly slower.

I can't comment on ASM I or II because my past 2 Astons were manual. I can only say what the dealer told me is that ASM I was tough to drive and the II was a considerable improvement. He claimed the III is even better than the II but not as significant as a jump from the I to II.

Smooth, progressive and enormous stopping power.
Conclusion: best braking I have experienced.........10/10.

I noticed the CCMs on my V12V were better than those on my scud. I remember trying a panic stop from 60 in the V12V and it felt like my face was going to come off. Not the same experience in the scud and you have to have a strong right foot.

According to the Aston folks at the introduction of the S, the CCMs are now even better than those on the original V12V.

My CCs on my V12V bite faster and better than either one of the 458s I owned. If the new ones are better that would be outstanding. Now if they will add a manual to the V12 I will be a buyer.

Yeah, which is amazing because the originals are so good.

Enjoy the car Edward. Strange I bought your 211 to compliment my V12 Vantage and now you are buying a V12S.

Aw yes, well nothing compares to the pure rawness of the 211, save a Radical. I must be growing old in my years to want a more comfortable DD and selling my S260. But the V12VS serves a great dual purpose of civilized driving and raw aggressive spirited driving.
I'm taking a brake from racing and sold my track Elise as well. But I'm sure I'll be back after the kids grow up a little. Let me know how the 211 feels on track!

Me no like...

This car doesn't need any graphics, it breaks the lines and cheapens the look IMHO.
