Ya know the few people who know I bought this car ever even heard of Aston Martin, I always tell him James Bond drives one, then they kind of know. But for the vast population out there, the AM is under the radar. That actually kind of appeals to me.

I'm back and forth on whether to put the vantage badge on, the back end looks so nice and clean with the just the AM wings.

ok guys (sorry Karl! ). I ordered the vantage boot badge. Looking in the shop manual, no mention of measurements from the edges to the badge, could a kind soul that has a factory fitted badge please measure the distance from the right edge and bottom edge of the boot to the logo?

Thanks!
Chris

Chris,

From the right side it's 7/8 and from the bottom of the V it's 5/8 from the bottom of the boot.

I must be very diffrent I have no badges on my car had them removed and have a smooth bonnet profile as well.

I have even removed the wheel centers and machined out of Billet wheel center caps with no logo on them, the only place it says AM is on the steering wheel and in the door sills as well as engine badge.... I enjoy being under stated, I am also the type of guy who hides with my cuff what wrist watch i wear for the particular accasion

I HAVE GOT THE FUSE 22 PERMANENTLY OUT so i am not totaly incognito

Wait. Are you saying you removed the AM wing badges on the boot and bonnet and filled in the recess where the badges go so they are flush?

Came from the factory without the badge. I prefer not having it for the simple reason that it makes the car easier to clean.

Actually, de-badging is probably more of a gangsta thing. As in, the gangsters take the badges off your car so they can wear them on a chain around their neck.

customizing

Actually, it is related to the first customizing step of the 40s, 50s, 60s, etc. Exterior trim removal was known as "nosing" and "decking". Nameplate removal easily fits in this category.
