Just had my steering wheel and Gear **** wrapped in Alcantara. I have also had the stiching dyed in Kestral Tan to match the interior and look as OEM as possible.

The feel of the car is literally transformed. Bad road surfaces are slightly less noticable and turning into corners is so positive as there is so much grip to make the turns. Amazing have this modification can really make such a difference to the luxury feel of the car.

Looks good. Did you have the wheel thickened too? I did the same to one of my Porsches before (alcantara shifter, thickened wheel and parking brake) and it was very nice.

FWIW - in about 1.5 years and 5000-6000 miles I got literally no visible wear on the Porsche.

Yes my concern was about wear. However the material used is original Alcantera which meant to wear very well.

If you wear racing gloves then I think the wear occurs sooner.

I have also heard reports that those that have had Alcantera with many thousands of miles have very little wear if any at all.

Yes this is slightly padded. Allows better grip and may even help the wear factor since your not rubbing against the solid wheel itself.
