Exhaust Valve Mod - Fuse 22

I have always wanted to install a remote switch for the exhaust valve but I also wanted it to be as original looking as possible. I managed to find a switch with a relay circuit built-in and decent looking transmitter.

I wanted the exhaust valves to remain in stock mode will I triggered the switch so I modified the circuit to start closed.

All I needed to do was to solder a connector on the circuit board.

With the help of the Aston Wiring diagram. I made the following connections

12V to the receiver = Fuse F7 (marked as spare)

GND to receiver = GND tapped from Relay 5

Fuse 22 = NC and COM on the receiver

The receiver unit uses 5.5ma on standby and 32ma when triggered of current. So I figured a 5amp supply to it would suffice.

Here is how it looks installed and with the fuse box closed.

I am going to test it a little, tidy the wires and fuse the connection.

I have using the setup for a few weeks and it works well.

The car starts with the valves is stock mode and when I want to wake the neighbors, I hit the switch which I blu-tac on to the center console.

Video clip of the exhaust valves opening and closing in a stationary car.

You can hear the click of the button and the exhaust note changes.

The OP used a Single Button unit that he modified to be quiet until he presses the button. This is the one I installed and has two buttons. It will stay in the position you last leave it. So you press one button to switch it to loud, and it will stay that way until maybe you are on the road and want to quiet it--so press the other button. If you leave it that way it will be quiet when you first start again.
