I was a bit hesitant as well when I saw the price on these but I decided to try them. For the price, I thought how bad could they be. I can always put the stock ones back on.
I finally installed them last month and I definitely made the right choice.
It was a quick and easy bolt on install and they fit perfect.
I also put the 22 fuse back in because it a little too loud with out it.
It is significantly louder than stock but it is really growing on me.
I had the check engine light go on once a day after I installed them but its been fine ever since then.

Highly recommended.

glad you like them. I keep the fuse in sometimes and out the others. I will eventually do mild 2 wild, but for now I just drive with fuse in b/c it keeps it quieter below 3800rpm so I can speed around quickly without attracting too much attention (stealth speeding lol). Above 3800 rpm though it sounds mega!

I called Enjuku Racing and spoke with Sam on these cats for the Aston Martin Vantage. He clarified that they're made in the USA out of California, but didn't have the full specs on the 200 cell core. That is, who made them, how much of the good metals they had in them, etc.

I tried to see if these were comparible in quality to the HJS cats but he didn't know. He said they've sold about 100 pairs of these with no customer complaints so far and no CEL has been reported. He also confirmed that these are a direct bolt on with no other cutting or welding for my car and he did confirm that Harrison is not the owner of Enjuku Racing out of Florida.

They are a distributor/reseller for this cat system. Trying to find the company in CA that makes them so I can confirm the quality of the core material.

Does anyone have the parent company info for the Harrison Signature cats?

Thanks

They are 200 cell metal core cats, that I can confirm for sure. They will do the job no problem with no issues. What the exact % isn't reallly a major concern, you are probably over analyzing them too much. You can't go wrong, especially for the price

Thanks. I think I'm going to pull the trigger on these next week. I also spoke to the guys at Fabspeed, and they told me they're working to get their HJS cats California certified, but that can still take up to a year. They've proved that their cats can pass smog and it's just the certification they need to go through.

I don't think the pricing will be close to the Harrison Signature cats though. Have you ever seen a check engine light since posting? Also, can you let me know where you ordered the set of gaskets? Enjuku didn't have the gaskets unfortunately.

Thanks for the in depth review. It helped a lot.

Cheers

Headers alone would put me above that mark, but I won't be doing those for a while. I will be focusing more on drivability and getting more of the existing power to the ground (pulley & rotors) along with special springs.
Great review, thanks for posting it. My question is, Will these cat's pass California smog tests? If they do than I will probably make a move for these when my stock cat's fail.

I ordered gaskets directly from the deslership. I think they were $40+ from what I remember. A bit pricey but much better than any aftermarket solution.

No check engines, some experience it for a few days during the adaptation period then it goes away and never comes back. ECU should fully adapt after a few weeks. As I am in TX I am not quite familiar with CA laws but I know everywhere else they are definitely 100% legal.

As far as actual tail pipe sniffer it should pass no problem. Mine passed OBD emissions test too.

Pulled the trigger on these

Just pulled the trigger on these from Enjuku Racing. I'll get them in 7 - 10 days and see how they do and post the findings. I also picked up a pair of the gaskets from a local dealer in California. Said AM V8 only needed the front gaskets as the rear is a clamp. - $35 for the pair.

Correct, gaskets are just for the header side, the rears are standard ball sockets

Thumbs up Got the HS CATs installed

Well, I got HS cats installed yesterday at my tuner shop and it took about 45 minutes total. They just loosened the 3 bolts at the header, removed the rear clamp and pushed the pipes back about an inch or so to make room to drop the cats. They came out without too much hassle.

There is a right and left side to the cats as the O2 sensor is in different locations. The HS cats matched right up with the original cat's locations and the O2 sensor holes in the heat shield aligned perfectly for a true bolt on solution.

007 Vantage is right on with the sound. I had been running my car with fuse 22 pulled for a long time so I'm used to the louder exhaust note. Just for grins, I put the fuse back in the weekend before the HS install and drove the car for a few days. I forgot how quiet the car is with fuse 22 in when it's not on full wide throttle.

With the HS cats and fuse 22 in, the sound is slightly higher in pitch than with fuse 22 out and it's a slightly more raspy sound. It's very nice and I love it. As others mentioned, with the fuse 22 back in, you'll get the awesome sound on take off and then it'll get quiet again until you open up the muffler baffles... and then it's WOW! With both the cats and wide open throttle, the car's like a Le Mans racer coming through.

My tuner and I took the car out for a test trial and opened it up several times and it sure turned a lot of heads. Very pleased and no check engine light what so ever after a day of driving. I'll have to play around with fuse 22 in and out and see if it's too loud for everyday driving with it out.

As for the power, you'll notice it. I didn't do a dyno test as several others have done it and the results looked fairly consistent in their output. The low end is definitely better and the car takes off the line quicker. If I had to sum it up in one thought, it's like the car lost several hundred pounds. I've driven multiple Porsches for 15+ years before owning this AM V8V and the Porsches are lighter and the take off is more "immediate". Coming from the Porsches, I noticed the Vantage's weight difference right away when I purchased the car - but the HS high flow cats have nullified that "weighty" feeling somewhat. This is what I think the Vantage should have been like from the factory.

For the money, this is definitely worth doing in my opinion. I've also done the ECU tuning from the ECU Tuning Group and together, the low and high end is definitely improved over stock. Between the two, I haven's spent that much (less than $2.7K US installed) and the gains I've gotten over stock is well worth it in my experience.

007 Vantage, thanks for the great post and details. I'm a believer!
Sam at Enjuku Racing. Thanks for the service and advice.

Remaining Pictures for Install

Here's how the HS cats look installed. The HS cats are also quite a bit lighter than the factory cats too. Small bonus on the weight savings...

Cheers and hope this was helpful. https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...lies/smile.gif
