Ok Ok, so I murdered the grille! :)

tried to wrap the individual pieces but after the first couple gave up (eight of those babies and I've no patience!) So, taking a tip from someone here, went to home depot and got some plasti dip black.
I'm very pleased with it and if I keep this grille I'll get it powdercoated, BUT looking at the newer 6 vane grille I think I'm going to get one of those. They run about $700 for the carbon edition from astonbits. Surprisingly cheap.

here's a pic of the car with the 6 vane, it looks more agressive to me, BUT it does verge on making it look like a ford in the front..................
oh. and can someone explain to me with the AM v12 mesh grille is so obscenely expensive??

Looks good Chris. Yes, wrapping with vinyl is an art form. Many people trivialize the work involved until they attempt it themselves and realize how difficult it really is.
Don't be fooled by some of the prices on "bits". They do have good deals but their shipping costs really tack on a huge amount to the final price. On more expensive parts, you also have to add on import duty. You usually get a surprise letter from the shipper about a month after you receive the item letting you know you owe even more money.
The V12VS is very expensive because the entire surround is made of nice pre-preg carbon fiber.

thanks for the tips Karl. Yep, I think if I had to wrap cars for a living I'd probably have a substance abuse problem!
BTW> I pm'd you if you've got the 6 vane grille in the pic you took during your wrap, I'd love to buy it. I do know what you mean, postage and import duty is painful which I've learned from decades of owning ducatis!

I get customers that come in all the time to tell me how "flat" and "easy" something should be for me to wrap. I usually respond by telling them if it was so flat and easy, then why did they have to come to me to have it done :P

I am glad someone else realizes this, haha.

Exactly... It is an art. I tried putting a clear 'pre cut' bra on my S2000 yrs ago... I am relatively good with projects like this where a little finesse was needed ... Not so with this. After 30min outside I came back in... GF asked how it went? I stuck a wadded up ball of sticky clear plastic the size of a basketball to the kitchen counter and immediately pounded a beer! I said it went 'super'.
Plasti-Dip Sprayed Grill
Chris-
I'm glad the easier plan worked for you also.
I think it looks great too, but I'm biased

Great mod indeed Chris! I like the blacked-out look on the black V8V's. Powder Coating is a more permanent solution but surely more durable on the long-run compared to Plasti-Dip. If chipping-off isn't happening I'd leave it as is.
Hope cheaper than mine!!! 06 db9 volante lady backed into me and knocked grille out of slots. Ordered new @ $1875 bur was told it would take 4-6 weeks. Offered a 2014 but $400 more. I bit. Happy when arrived in a week and instead of being hollow like my 06 it was 5 solid bars of aluminum. Doesn't look so much like a Ford Focus anymore
Please be aware that the verticles are dark gray. I don't notice and it doesn't bother me, but just so you know
