Excessive winshield reflections from black & red interior
Excessive winshield reflections from black & red interior
Having been on the AM forum for 7 years, I know that there are some very bright and clever members. I just purchased a 2012 McLaren 12C and I am having issues with excessive reflections in the front windshield from the bright red leather interior trim that extends up the front dash. In certain conditions it can really hinder your ability to see the road as clearly as I would like. The only two options that I can come up with to deal with the problem would be to darken the red leather. Does anyone know if the leather that McLaren uses is acceptable to further dying or darkening of the color? I know in many cases the color is actually "painted" on the surface of the leather and there is nothing that you can do to effectively change the color. My other consideration is having the windshield tinted to cut down on the reflections-- probably the easier of the two options, yet unsure if window tinting will actually solve the problem. (Plus tinting the front windshield is illegal in California.) Any input or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
