Removing minor dings with boiling water?

Was wondering if any of you have tried removing small dings with boiling water? Have heard this works well on other cars but wanted to make sure it wouldn't damage the paint if I attempted it.

If not, any other suggestions?

I have one minor ding, which nobody would probably notice, but I sure do!

Sounds scary and something that could make an easy repair very expensive.

found this, I think it's meant for plastic bumpers and such, but I'd be afraid to try it.

I agree. Had a big door ding in mine, luckily the paint wasn't damaged at all. The paint less dent guy next to the local AM dealer got it out and you can't tell that anything had ever happened.
