Got a pic? Not sure how the backing plate can be close to the rotor hat.

Maybe it's different on the two-piece rotors. But on the newer dual-cast rotors it's still pretty far.

It shouldn't matter if they are close should it? They won't move any closer once placed.

the rotor will spin but worried about aggressive driving... These are very close to the hat...

Will these fit a DBS caliper? My Ceramics are off the car and I'm running steel rotors.

If it is the same size/spec as the 380mm Vantage Rotor you should be good to go.

I know factory DBS rotots are 398mm and we used 395mm which are same disks as a f430. I'll have to do some cross referencing.

Best thing to do is get me a tracing or scan of the pad and email to me and we can CAD it and compare.

I'm using f430 pads but they have to be trimmed as the caliper mounting brackets on the DBS get in the way. The caliper itself is the same as the f430 among other Porsche applications, it's just a brembo part.

I'll have to find some pictures for you.

My new R4-S pads were just installed, and they, too, look like they're right against the hat. If so, I'd assume the backing plate will just wear away and be fine. I certainly hope it's OK, here are two pics so you can see.

Cattman,

I had the same issue and Stuart sent my pictures to Porterfield. They took the pads back and took some material off to improve the fitment. Porterfield and Stuart were very helpful and made it a quick turnaround. Hope this helps.

Thanks. Stuart offered the same to me, but I've been driving a bit and everything seems absolutely fine, so I am going to leave it alone and enjoy the silent and dust free experience of these Porterfields. Sooooo nice to drive the car and be able to stop silently! Increases my enjoyment of the car 1000%.

The R4-S pads really are fantastic for 95% of Aston drivers.

I made that % number up, but I think I'm close.

If you out-drive the R4-S, then you need some chill.

I need some chill.

Having switched to the racing version - I have a thread somewhere - I miss the quiet, dust-free R4-S pads!

I see a post reference to sensor slots being incorrect earlier in this thread, but didn't see any outcome to the issue.
I just installed some Porterfield R4-S pads on my 08 DB9 that I got from Velocity AP and half the sensor slots are in the wrong location. The sensor still fits in the actual pad but because of location the sensor wire no longer fits in the groove in the caliper.
When you had the sensor slots in the wrong location, what did you end up doing with the sensor wires? I'm afraid they're going to rub on the inside of the wheel or flap around till they fatigue and break if they can't be tucked into the caliper groove.
