DB9 Wiper/Linkage Motor Removal?

May I ask if anyone has removed the wiper motor assembly? Or knows how to access that area without performing major surgery? It appears I need to "re-clock" the linkage in order to solve a mysterious wiper problem. The dealer says that the intake manifold and possibly the master cylinder needs to be removed to access this area. Another forum suggests engine removal (or lowering). Another suggests a that the entire assembly can be removed with a dealer "special tool" with engine left alone but no specifics. Thanks in advance!

What's the mystery problem? The manifolds and booster do need removal and there's a factory tool to install. So sounds like everyone is close to an answer.

The "mysterious problem" is that the windhield wipers turn in wrong directions. The dealer said the motor/linkage assembly needs to be "re-clocked". Very puzzling as to how this occured. I bought the DB9 with front-end collision damage (RF suspension, F body panels & windshield replaced) and discovered the problem after all the repairs were made. The wiper arms are mounted and correctly clocked in the parked position but when turned on, they don't sweep accross the windshield correctly. What's the special tool?

If the vehicle was hit on the RH side, there is the under hood fuse box and wiring that I would look into before saying the motor needs attention. If the wiper motor was not removed it should be "clocked" as you say. Any other electrical faults present? Warning lights or running driving issues?

Thank you!
There was superficial collision damage to the RF however the fuses & wiring all look okay.

I discovered something today that may have caused the problem but still not sure... The wiper arm assembly consists of 2 (R & L) wiper arms/blades with an "idler arm" attached to one. They attach in 3 places with typical nuts. When I removed the assembly (to install a new windshield), first I made sure they were "parked" properly. Then I removed the assembly by unscrewing the 3 nuts at the 3 mounting points. After the new windshield was installed, I simply re-mounted the arms in the exact same "parked" position and tightened the 3 nuts. When I turned the wiper motor on, the wipers tried to go DOWN so I shut it off and began to stress...

Soooo... after studying the AM Workshop manual today, under "Windscreen Wiper Arms Removal", I noticed it says: "Do NOT remove the nut that secures the idle arm to the wiper spindle. Remove the 4 bolts securing the idle arm mounting plate"

Whaaaaat?? Why??

So now I'm wondering if that may have caused a misalignment below? And if so, is it possible to adjust/clock it without removing the assembly? It's a 10 hour job PLUS nearly a $grand in manifold gaskets & injector "O" rings to get access the wiper motor mechanism below. All of which I'd like to avoid if humanly possible!

Thanks so much in advance for any comments or criticisms!
