ECU Remote Unlocking Distance

ECU Remote Unlocking Distance
Hey guys, I have a MY12 V8V and have a question about the distance range for locking/unlocking the car using the ECU.
Right now, I need to be at least within ~30 ft/8-10 meters of the car for it to register the signal. Same issue with glass and plastic ECU. Sometimes it takes multiple presses from within 10 ft to get it to register and with popping the trunk, it can be a complete crap shoot.
My question is if this is normal or indicative of a low battery in my remote or something else amiss. It's not a huge deal, but I'm taking the car in for the seat heater recall and trying to have all odds and ends addressed in one visit.
Thanks!

When I bought my first vantage in 2007 I had asked the dealer why such short and picky distances for the remote and he explained something about thieves in Europe having scanners to open doorsand it was to protect the Aston Martin owners.
