Rear Parking sensors

... Or the lack thereof, really.

My beautiful V8VS is equipped with front and rear sensors; however, I do not believe the rear set are working.

Front chime regularly, and as tested when the wife walked in front of the car, but the rear were either defective, or so silent they are useless...

I even tried to have the wife walk past while in reverse to see if they only engage while the transmission was in reverse. Still, no beeping, but the front still engaged.

I attempted with both the park sensor switch engaged and disengaged.

Anyone have any experience here to assist?

I miss the light indicators on the SL63 visually showing the chirping even if the sound was disabled.

Dare I say that parking is more harrowing than speeding down the twisty Roads
That carbon fiber is too gorgeous to scratch, and I'd hate to have to replace it

Thanks

dsvantage is infamous around these parts
My front parking sensors seem to be more sensitive than the rear ones. However the rear sensors do work -- if I recall they have a lower pitch beep. Shifting into reverse should turn the parking sensors on automatically, and they will then stay on even in a forward gear until you pass a certain speed. If you never get any beeping from the rear no matter how large or close the obstacle then something is wrong, and should be looked at.
