06' DB9 pollen filter replacement instructions

Read a few threads on pollen filter replacement. Here's a little more if you have an 06 DB9. Hopefully someone will move this thread to the appropriate place.

1-remove the leather surround around the glove box opening. Its held on by a few press in clips. Gently pry the surround off by pulling toward you(its very easy!) The opener button is included in the surround, so take care of the wires attached to it. You can easily unplug the button wires, then place the surround out of the way.

2-in my 06' the were only 2 phillips head screws attaching the glove box hinge to inner frame. Remove these. The glove box will then fall. Leave the stretchy wire attached and set the unit aside.

3-next I had to remove an inner plastic back cover. It was held on by almost useless 2 way tape at one end and slotted behind another tab at the other. Takes a little finagling but it will come out. TIP...when you reinstall this, make sure it centered so the latch mechanism isn't obstructed.

4-Now you will see a white plastic "blower unit?" with a white square box at the top. Carefully unhook the plastic clips on each side. If you put your finger in between the ends of the clip and pull, its enough to undue the clips. No need for excessive force.

5-Pull the two old filters out and slide in the new ones. (only have 9000 miles on car but they were filthy!) Foam ends should be on the top. Reinstall the filter cover by carefully pressing back in. Should go easily. If not, make sure your filters are pushed all the way in.

6-reverse the process.

HINT>>> save your sanity and neck muscles by taping your hinge screws to your screw driver
