07 AM V8 with quicksilver exhaust... Exhaust sounded loud, crisp, raspy, and throaty up until about 5 days ago. Now it sounds muffled, almost as if your normal voice had a cold (best way I can describe sound). No check engine lights on either. Does anyone know why this change in sound has happened? PS: not many miles on the car either since I bought in Dec 2014. Any help is appreciated.

I wonder if one if your cats broke apart and got stuck in one if the exhaust pipes.

Anton,

Mechanic looked and all he said was that there was a scrape on the side of the cat but that was it, if it broke apart would I hear it break...? Thanks

I mean the internals of the cat. Ive had it happen to me in the past. Cats have a honey comb style filter if you can call it that inside made to trap the exhaust fumes and burn them off. With age a cat can brake apart inside and you get pieces of that material flying out of your tail pipes. You wont know for sure until you cut the cat out and look inside. You can try unbolting the muffler and shaking it to see if anything got in there. This would be my first theory, unless something broke inside the muffler it self which ive never heard of happening.

Is there a dual tip exhaust option for the pre-2018 Vanquish?
