5R13-12405-BA to NGK PTR 7E-13

I have also seen 6E. 7E is a colder plug. Is the colder plug better given we need higher octane fuel for smoother combustion?

Yes, higher octane allows a colder plug. Not for a smooth combustion, its for a better burn to push the cylinder back down in the bore. Although too cold and it will misfire, too hot and ignition will pre detonate...
