Gear POS indicator not available MSG on dash?

I had problems starting my Vantage V8, and there is a msg on dash "Gear POS indicator not available". When I pushed the start button, the radio and the whole car would be off, act like battery is bad. But battery is tested and it's good.

Can anyone help?

Either clutch is jammed or unknown gear is selected when it shouldn't be or gear is jammed. Doesn't mean your pockets are going to become broke but I would suggest a dealer visit to scan the vehicle and see what's going on. Could me minor, could be major, but without the Dtc code we'd be just throwing thoughts in the wind..I'm sry, I can't be of more help than this :-(

Is there a noise from the back when you open the driver door? The ASM pump should prime when this happens. No pressure no worky.

Exactly, this is the case. I hear a whining sound 2-4 seconds when I open the door. How can I get this ASM pump primed. Is there a procedure you can share?
Thanks.

Not sure you understand, noise is normal. That's the pump building pressure when you open the driver door. Question was is the pump noise present. Answer, yes. Plus it would help if you give details on year and miles of vehicle and any recent work or mods done.

It is a 2008 Vantage, current miles is 32k. I haven't done anything to it. One day I left headlight on overnight, next morning it just happened like this. I did try to replace battery and reset the car multiple times.

Thank you.
