Elton John's Vantage is for sale

Price will be given "upon request".

Description:

https://www.classicdriver.com/en/car/aston-martin/v8/1985/363555]Aston Martin V8 Vantage Saloon - Ex-Sir Elton John

'C194 BYW' was ordered new by Sir Elton John via the nearby Aston Martin Showroom on Sloane Street, London. The Aston Martin Certificate of Origin confirms that C194 BYW was completed on 7th July, 1985 and first registered on 12th September 1985. The car is presented in its original colour scheme of Royal Cherry with Magnolia upholstery with matching Royal Cherry piping and features its sole factory option of detachable head-rests.

This right-hand drive, five speed manual example received the desirable RSW 7.0 Litre engine and gearbox upgrade by Aston Martin Heritage agents Richard Stewart Williams. Having always been serviced by Aston Martin marque specialists, the car was recently serviced by Heritage agents Nicholas Mee & Co at which time the car was fitted with the popular AP brake upgrade kit.

Currently reading 45,965 miles the car is beautifully presented and is accompanied with a large history file containing; original V8 Owners handbook, Certificate of Origin, service invoices, MOT certificates and a Sir Elton John signed brochure.

How would he get 45,965 miles on it, assuming he's had a number of other cars as well like most pop stars? I've never seen any reports that he drives his own cars.

Nor - unlike Jason Stratham, Steven Spielberg et al - have I seen photos of him refueling at a gas station or doing other driverly things

Oh hold on, I might be mistaken...

I remember about 10-15 years ago I came close to buying a very similar Aston. I think they were asking maybe $30k for it. Possibly less.

And they never tell you this in the ad. Truth-in-advertising suggests they say it was 'originally' EJ's car
