Oil filter relocation kit?

Just did the yearly service this last weekend on my 08DB9. This service included an oil change which of course included the oil filter. What a PITA changing out that filter is. As an engineer it drives me crazy when something that is a known maintenance item is not designed with that in mind. And I get that in the UK this isn't an issue due to the steering box being on the other side, but in my mind that should be taken into account when designing for the rest of the world.

So it got me thinking - has anyone done an oil filter relocation on their AM, or even seen an oil filter relocation kit specific to AM? There's plenty of generic kits that can be had online but a quick search came up empty for a kit that is AM specific. It sure would be nice, and much faster, to have the oil filter located somewhere easily accessible. Anyone ever see one?

You can use a generic one, there are a bunch out there. Not sure where you would relocate it too, not a whole lot of room in the engine bay.

This is actually an interesting idea.. I just wonder if it's worth the effort for the once a year most people have to change the oil? I think finding a spot under the car wouldn't be a problem.

The concern I have is reduced oil pressure. The adapter and associated oil lines / tubes would have to be large enough so no additional restriction is incurred. I have my doubts based on some of the generic kits that I have seen.

I agree that pressure is a concern - especially since there is a history of oil starvation that was fixed by adding a bit more oil. From what I've read as long as you mount the remote equal to or lower than the current filter it'll prevent drain back. Plus with a remote setup you get the added bonus of the additional oil to fill all the hoses to and from the remote.

However, all that said, I haven't yet crawled under the car to see where it possibly could be mounted.
