Agree, remove, replace, prep, install, finish and blend will cost several thousand if done right.

It won't be blended and look like a $500 repair.

The second paint shop I took it too has informed it's already been repainted before. Do I even want to know why? #cringe

They seem much nicer but only slightly cheaper.

Don't know but 4-5K sound like a lot of money.

So just dealing with the second paint shop was much nicer I think I will remove the parts myself and bring them in. It should be about $2300.

They mentioned I might have to remove weather stripping on the fender. Does anyone know the part number for weather stripping? I would like to replace it in many places.the hood, the doors on the front part. Where would be the best place to get that info?

I bought cars for way less than that amount.

I would shop more around more to get below $1k for the job.

This probably wont help you right now but for comparison sake, someone drove in my Z4 drivers door while running a stop sign a few years ago.

I had my Z4, towed to the best paint shop in my area, at a Porsche and BMW dealer body shop.

They had the best paint match and paint job I have seen in the US. You were not able to see the damage.
The damage included door, panel, fender Mirror. Even the hood was painted new due to a mirror scratch.
The invoice was $2.3k for paint job but was pretty much half the car in a hard to match color.

To replace my hood, left fender, bumper and grille was $23k with a repaint. From what I have heard, the paint AM uses is an EXPENSIVE blend and both Motor cars of Ga and Magnum said to be careful who I use, as some places will use cheaper paint and blend it till it is close.

For an EXPENSIVE blend of paint it sure chips easy
The paint on my 2006 infinity looks way better than the Aston, and that SUV has been sitting outside for the last 6 months

$1k or $2.3k?

There is no major body part replacement and finish job for under $1k. It's just not going to happen.

Well I found on Aston Martin bits that I can buy brand new unpainted parts for less than 1k each so if worse comes to worse and they do a terrible job I will go to the first place(Aston certified) with bare parts and learn my lesson the hard way.

1k max for a fender paint job.

The paint job on my car was $2.3k what included several body parts done by the best Porsche body shop in my area.

Hey buddy,
I posted initially not thinking about the aluminum fenders. That wouldn't be so easy to repair like it should. So price would go up. To respray the fender and the bumper with both removed , and fix the damage on the fender, yes likely your looking at a easy couple grand.

From the forum, there has been banter about the AM paint, with some saying ONLY go to a specialist for that. I don't know, so cannot add to that information, however if it is true, then I wouldn't skimp on that at all. If it shows at all that it has been resprayed, then your value just dropped. You might not care now, however you will care down the road. Just do similar to what you are doing and get the best price from someone who can handle the work correctly and pay. YOu will be happier in the end.

Fenders are not aluminum, they are composite (i.e., plastic).

Listen, at the end of the day, you will get what you pay for. There is only one way to fix these cars, i.e., the RIGHT WAY.

Make sure you find a shop that can properly fix these cars.

We have practically the same damage. The only difference is that my front quarter and my bumber are now misaligned.
