Michelin Pilot Super Sport
G'Day,
After happy driving the original Bridgestones on my Vantage V8 I changed now to Michelin PSS (245 front, 285 rear, original Sportpack rims). Grip is brilliant, steering more accurate but I am not totally happy they seem to 'dance' much more then the Bridgestones and te side roll in cornes seems to be more. I am using 2,3 Bar int the front and 2,5 Bar in the rears.
As lots of you use the tyre con you give me your impressions and mybe a solution how to get rid of the 'dancing'.
Thanks in advance to you all

Are those the tire pressures when the tires are hot or cold?
If cold, they're going to be a much higher pressure when hot, which can adversely affect performance. Maybe drop .1 from them (or .1 from the front and .2 from the rear) and see if you can tell a difference.
Another thing to check is your alignment, as that can have a big effect on them. It's good to check alignment regularly, I try to do it once or twice a year.

I tend to drive my car pretty hard, so I keep them at 33 psi (2.3 bar) in all four tires when cold. They heat up ~3 psi (.2 bar) which usually feels really good for me.
Part of it might be that your rears are higher than the fronts. I'd start off by dropping the rear pressure to match the front at your current front pressure (2.3 bar) and see how you like it. Then if you still want to, drop an extra .1 bar from the front and rear down to 2.2 bar and see how that affects them.

Thanks Rich I'll give it a shot but I guess it'll have to wait until tomorrow as I am sipping my first Gin&Tonic (it's 5 pm in Austria) and I have the feeling that I can' stand on one leg

Question about alignment. The aston dealer around here is charging a whopping $800 for an alignment. Which is insane. Is that what the dealers are charging you guys?
Granted you can just go to an indy as I think that's the better choice.

I am running the PSS tires as well. Factory 19" sizes. I added an external TPMS a while back and can see that I have been lazy and let the fronts dip to 27psi cold. Going thru some sweepers yesterday at around 60mph (maybe 75% of what the car 'could' do).. I felt that exact same small 'dance' on the front tires. I am definitely thinking its tire pressure.
There are a couple other concessions.. The BrideSTONES were really stiff.. no doubt stiffer sidewall and probably more tolerant of underinflation. But I'll take the ride quality improvement of the Michelins any day!

I've never heard of an $800 alignment. Typical range is $80-100 for front only, or $100-150 for all four corners.

I dropped only the rears to 33 psi and had a test run today, not on my favourite windy road yet, but so far I am HAPPY, no 'dancing' any more. Thanks for your input guys.
