Another new AMv8 owner
Well, add my name to new list of AM owners. I picked a 2013 v8 vantage a couple weeks ago from AM SanDiego. Car only had 4000 miles, 1 owner and my sales rep James actually sold it new and knew the history of it. It was highly optioned with carbon exterior. The 1st owner also added black wrap on the roof/tail and removed the stock cats. Little bit of v12 look and sound.
This is my first AM and came over from a 911. So far I've done a couple 100 mile drives and the car is fantastic. The V8 is very analog vs 911 and you can actually feel parts engaging. I have the SSII and it reminds me of my SMG M3 years ago I'm and still working on "finesse" to get the most out of it.
Looking forward to meeting some bay area AM owners....
Cheers!

Congrats! I came from 911, too, but I kept me 911
As for the SSII, keep the car in Sport mode all the time, and:
-When in full auto mode (aka "D" in SSII), you will get a feeling for when the car will shift, and right before it does gently lift off throttle and it'll be smooth
-When shifting with the paddles, again, very briefly lift off throttle and you'll get a smooth shift. If you're going for a super fast acceleration, don't lift, the rifle bolt shifts will be perfect.

Awesome, congrats.
Get the TCU transmission software upgrade and it will make a big difference. Many of the sponsors on this site sell it. That's the best way to get the most out of the SS2 setup
