Sqeaking Brake Fix

Public service announcement: The stock pads on my '07 v8v started to sqeak at the very end of every stop, annoying. I pulled the pads, cleaned off the copper grease that AM uses and applied a heavy dose of the red brake grease (that you can get at any auto parts store) on all of the contact points at every corner. This includes piston, sliding and contact points on the caliper itself, the spring contact points and the pin contact points with the springs. It doesn't do anything about all the dust but all noise is gone.

How far have you driven since then and any stop and go traffic were the brakes get really hot?

I've probably done a couple hundred miles, it was consistently squeaking, now it's consistently not squeaking. The car's hibernating now.

mugget is infamous around these parts
Nice. I know when my brakes were squeaking over the summer I did most of what you did to my brakes and nothing was working. It ended up being the parking brakes making the noise so I just slowly drove in reverse a couple times with my parking brake engaged to varying levels of engagement and it shut them up.
