You want the as much of mass as close to the center of the car as possible... hence why the engine is also pushed as far back as it can go.

Aston Martin Summit (in NJ) charged me $243.50 for one. Since my car will be in an underground garage in Brooklyn for a decent chunk of the year, decided not to risk it.

Really good idea as mine last year lasted less than 5 wks not been connected and had to use my metal key to get in and plug the trickle charger

Just received a factory emergency key cut to my 2009 Vantage VIN number. $142 USD from Ambits. Works like a charm.

I love working on cars but the thought of having to pull the right front wheel and interior cover just to access a dead battery in a locked car was more than enough incentive for me to get the key.

Wow...glad to hear key works great...I ordered one on Friday from Aston Bits....My car came with only ugly plastic fob...Made mistake of buying on eBay back up fob...Yup..Dumb...No codes came so fob could only be programmed for starting the car..
live and learn...Thanks for information on your key..

Quite a wide swing in price and I guess the selling dealer is not needed after all. Still waiting for mine to arrive after six weeks. Lesson learned.

Key arrived yesterday....Perfect ...Works great...Aston bits and Rich at redpants saved me enough money to take my wife out for dinner over dealer pricing...
