V8V 7spd sportshift

What year did the 7spd Sportshift become available?

Does it shift any better that the other Sportshift transmissions ?

Started with the V8 Vantage S's ASM2 (and V12 Vantage's ASM3). It came out sometime around MY2011. I don't remember the exact dates off the top of my head.

ive had both - not a huge difference

7-speed is faster time wise, but you may not notice it. And the 7 doesn't have "crawl" feature.

When I went from my 2007 4.3 6 Speed Manual to the 2009 4.7 6 speed Sportshift the power difference was very noticeable, however, going to the 2016 5 GT Sportshift both power and tranny not a huge leap - I do like being notified that the kiss procedure is complete and not have to guess at it. Another improvement (not related) is seeing actual tire pressure being displayed.
