nickplee is infamous around these parts
Crawl mode, etc

I have an '09 V8 Vantage with the SportShift system. I've done some searching around what is actually happening (with the clutch and the computer's control of the throttle) when I use the various modes, but the things people post seem to be pretty inconsistent.

I think it would be useful to have this in one place-- what happens (clutch-wise) when you do the following:

1) Put it in first with the paddle and lift your foot off the brake without touching the accelerator
2) Same, but using the accelerator
3) Put it in "D" (which I almost never do because the AM dealer told me not to)
4) Put it in reverse (I believe this is the same behavior as "D", but the reverse ratio is wayyyy too tall, as has been documented many times on here)

Honestly...I have auto shift. 09 like you...But the guys posting most are stick heads... I doubt anyone will post answers... There are other sites Piston heads...AMOC that have more auto related information...Also under the sticky area very good information given over the years...
my thoughts
1- crawl mode very bad for clutch
2- car goes forward ...Normal shifting with paddles
3- d is ok to use as actually the car learns your habits and shift points...But I stopped using as paddles are better and more fun.
Do not use comfort...retards clutch and causes damage long term...
4- as long not backing up hills everyday...Use but come to complete stop before first gear...
There were some really smart guys on here I believe must be techs...They answer and know...One I see posting is irish07...Try messaging him for the correct answers not my opinions that could be off base...Also another honest guy is Rich at redpants...Both post well
