I decided to wrap my aluminum door sill plates with dry carbon fiber wrap with my personalized logo'd plates...I'm very happy with the results. It was my first time working with vinyl wrap and it's pretty forgiving. I just took it slow and made relief cuts around complex/curved corners and used a heat gun to apply some shrinkage and get the adhesive to activate; worked great.
Not only do I think this looks good, it will provide scratch and scuff protection of the soft aluminum sill plates when getting in/out of the car.
Here's a pic of one side done compared to OEM:
And a few pics of the finished product:
Now if only spring would arrive...Another few inches of snow in southern NH last night...Ugh.
No problem! Here's what I used; picked it up from Amazon:

Read good reviews from various car forums. Had good luck with it; curious to see how well it will hold up.
Looks like a matte finish. How does that compare to your door arm rest which is actual CF?
This gives me a thought. Could I get my front splitter and rear difusser covered in glossy CF wrap and would it have an authentic look? Even if could be done (wrap adhering to plastic) I wonder, since I have later V8V difusser, if the exhaust tips would either melt the wrap or worse catch them on fire!
It's pretty close to the door pull but not an exact match. The door pull is a tad darker. With the door open, you really don't notice the difference; have to study it closely.
Glossy wrap rap would look great for the exterior parts. Give it a shot!
Wow, that looks great, thanks for sharing. I quickly noticed on my Vantage that this door sill is the most susceptible to everyday scuffs, especially on the wife's side of the car, lol. So I'm assuming this can be removed/replaced easy enough if needed?
My '07 doesn't have any CF finishes, but a nice satin black would do the trick. Thanks again!
