Galpin Aston Martin Thoughts?
Galpin Aston Martin Thoughts?
All,
Has anyone had any experiences purchasing an AM with Galpin in Van Nuys, CA? Thinking of pulling the trigger, but want to avoid the usual dealer games...
Thanks!

I have purchased a ton of cars from them since 1986 (SVO Mustang). To my 2 Aston Martin's, in 2014 I purchased a 2007 Vantage that they sold new originally. The salesman I dealtt with on that car is retired. The 2016 Vantage,I bought Last August. My sales guy's were Steve Rogers and Matthew Parsons. They were good to deal with. I have not had any real problems with the dealership in a long time. My service contact is John, and my tech is Doug. I think if you go in with a lot of research ( on what the car is worth from a dealer) and make sure you get the Aston 1 year preowned warranty with the deal. then you will be good. Don't be shy about asking for some things to be included in the deal. I got the first service, a one year extension on the warranty, a car cover, clear bra and a battery conditioner. Plus a lot off of the sticker. My car was a Aston Martin press car with 2800 miles on it. I was the first owner. On a used car there is not as much room in the price how ever. The service department is very good. Doug is a good tech, he is also a weekend racer as well.

Experience was not too great. Amazing sales person, but car insanely overpriced. A bit shady on several of the initial statements which was frustrating. Ex: Sent photo of tripmeter at 6300 stating it was said mileage and when I arrived, was 8K more. Mentioned an initial price, however it was 2k more in person. Was told new tires all the way around and only the rears replaced.
Just the typical dealer games that I was hoping to avoid. In the end, we were about 5K off. 5K isn't a big deal, but coupled with the shake and bake approach of misrepresenting several items on the car, it didn't feel good.
Overall, the facility is impeccable. Sales experience with the Aston owners club is top notch. Didn't like the usual dealer tactics. Left offer and never received a return call.

I have purchased several Astons from Galpin. Always a good experience with Matthew, John and Doug. Would not hesitate to deal with them again. My most recent was my 2012 V12 Vantage manual. Bought it new with a great deal and service. Still have it. Ken
