vantage 700 watt amp option
does anyone know the details of the optional stereo? different speakers? how does the 160 watt set-up sound? can you tell by looking at the console?

When you turn it on, it'll say "Premium Audio System" under "Vantage," if it has it.
The base stereo is made by Alpine and has two door speakers and a subwoofer.
Premium Audio has upgraded door speakers, additional rear speakers, a center dash speaker, and an upgraded subwoofer. The controls also allow you to adjust the subwoofer independent of the other speakers (the base stereo just has a single equalizer).
The Bang & Olufsen "holy ****" system has thirteen total speakers, all of them higher quality.
P.S. All of this information is available in "The Book"--The Definitive Guide to new Gaydon era Aston Martin. If you're looking to buy an Aston Martin, get the book.
As oo7 said, if you want audio quality, the base system is a little lacking. It's not terrible, but it's definitely not going to wow anybody. I console myself with the fact that fewer speakers means less weight.

I have premium sound with lifetime sirus...a few weeks ago when home for one day...I was playing channel 18.beatles new channel and my wife thought Paul was in the car with us...lol
The center dash speaker is a surround sound speaker ...the sound is out of this world.
I have not hear the BO system but I can imagine.
There are many threads of guys that upgraded their sound here ...

I have the B&O and very happy about it. Pleased that the first owner opted for that rather than the Volvo satnav.
However, there is noooo way that it is worth the 7000 USD they charged for it..

As far as I know, and according to what I find in The Book (hint, hint), the head unit has not changed in all that time, so it should say that for both pre- and post-09 model years.
If you're seriously concerned about whether a car has it or not, it's not very hard to literally put your ear close to one of the rear speaker grilles and see if there's any sound coming from it. If there isn't, either the car doesn't have rear speakers (i.e. has a base stereo) or the speakers are blown (run away from the poorly-maintained car).

Website is still there and shows a new 2017 edition. If you're considering purchasing a car there's no better reference.
