Nearest place is AMNE, Waltham, MA. There aren't any independents in the area AFAIK.

I am in South Windsor, Ct. In the past I have used F40 Motorsports in Portland, but the last couple of years they were too busy to take care of it. But they are a great shop and worth giving a call.

I have also used Miller Motor Cars in Stamford. Great service but expensive.

My car is in Florida most of the time now, and thanks to Redpants I have done some of the regular maintenance myself. But there is a shop in Suffield, CT called Doane's. They are a small shop, very honest and do very good work. I have seen them working on some high end cars in their shop.

Also, there is a shop in Glastonbury that specializes in British cars. I have a friend who is a Jaguar nut and he recommends them. I think it is called Glastonbury Foreign Cars.

So, you guys seem to recommend non Aston specialists for a PPI? That's crazy. I would only trust a PPI to an independent if they were a noted specialist in Aston Martins (like Autosport in LI). For fixing some easy stuff, that's a different situation altogether. The OP has 2 choices for a PPI: Miller or AMNE. AMNE is closer and cheaper.

I am an idiot. I was referring to annual service, not Pre-Purchase Inspection. The guys at Miller Motor Cars would be best for this as they are very picky and would point out any defects.

F40 Motorsports are very knowledgable and are also qualified to do an inspection. The owner, Wayne Carini, has a great show on Velocity and they buy and restore million dollar sports cars, so I would trust them.

And as XJRS has pointed out, the Boston AM dealership is around the same distance as Miller Motor Cars, but with traffic I think they are a much longer drive from Coventry.

I would take it to either dealer mentioned. They know the cars best and have all the diagnostic tools. But call each shop and get your own comfort feeling. Ask the weak points of the V8 and determine how they approach it. Send them the service records for review.

I would not make a decision that one shop is less expensive than another. It's the quality of the tech working on your car. Good luck.
