Lloyds doesn't know how to make Aston mats.
I thought they were supposed to be really good? Don't believe the hype. Unfortunately I did and ordered a set thru CARID for $93. As you can clearly see, they put and inside corner where it's supposed to be a clean curve, which after looking at every other mat maker, they seem to be the only one that thinks this is how the mat should be cut, and finished.

The mats are designed in this way and are not considered to be defective. I apologize for the inconvenience. Since they are made to order and not returnable, we would like to offer $15 Gift Certificate and $10.00 partial refund as an apology for any inconvenience. Please let us know whether you agree to get the Gift Certificate code and the refund back to your account. To which I gave them the option of accepting the return or dealing with a chargeback from my card for delivering incorrect cut, finished, and fitting mats and that they could shove their $10 refund into a dark place. If this is post sale support I would highly recommend avoiding CARID for anything. My question is, am I being TOO picky? Of course I'm being picky, I love my Aston, but, would you be happy with this? Or am I just being overly anal? I'd probably get just as worked up if they were for a VW. I'll order thru another company that actually shows a picture of the mats, with smooth curve there of course, and you can look for these in the classified if anybody is interested. At least they can cut a drivers mat right, which means they're right 1/2 the time...... |
Wayyy too picky.

I can accept that, you should see me going thru stacks of guitars at the distributor, but that's what's kept business strong for 20 years, my customers know they'll never see the crap I weed out. ;)
Here are samples of other mats you can find on ebay, notice none of them have an inside corner there, all smooth curve [some a little smoother than others]. Not that they're all the same by any means. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/I7EAA...SWA/s-l500.jpg https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/~EsAA...bIn/s-l400.jpg left drive http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/B7YAAO...nB/s-l1600.jpg |

I got mats from them too.. Same problem you have. You're not being too picky.. They suck. :/
Did you order from somebody else or just suck it up and live with it? |

I thought at least somebody here would see this as an annoying fault. We'll use the finest waxes, protectants, PPF, final rinse with deionized water, and the list goes on, but an ill fitting mat is ok? ;)

These won't stay in the car. They'll either take the return or they'll be sitting in the classifieds cheap. Maybe Blue2000 will buy them? ;)
I'm leaning toward the ones on ebay http://www.ebay.com/itm/282426607929...84.m1438.l2649 I got samples and they're a hair thinner, right about the thickness of the factory carpets, and look dead on to the factory material. They also show a picture of the cut that shows they at least know that's supposed to be a curve and not an inside corner. I was on the verge of ordering but got sidetracked with the "superior" Lloyds hype. ;/ |
I had my experience with carid as well, IIRC about $200 postage&packaging to Austria for some little switches worth $ 60 or so. I cancelled the order and they accepted that, which I appreciated.

Hi H-O..I bought the Aston Martin logo ones a month ago off eBay for my 09. The fit is good and looks nice in the car. Of course, the cost was around 260 with freight from California..
Good luck...I wish you well. |
Forgot to mention my car came with Lloyds mats the pile was still good and about 3/4 thick...I guess bought to protect the AM pad...which is still in perfect shape...I guess the quality of their work and material has dropped...
I changed as I wanted the Aston emblem... |
I like those but I'm just not the logo mat kinda guy, I like the clean look, although I have the tee shirt of course ;)

Hey...H-O...I understand. That is why I am keeping my old mats so I can change out when I feel bored with my new ones...lol
|
Missed the followup, you have Lloyds and the passenger mat doesn't have that inside corner?
|
I will check when I get home... currently working in Alabama...but older mats great fit that were bought by original owner I bet in 09-10 as no wear at all on the original AM pad and carpet...
|
I knew, but it never really registered that the carpets were not mats and maybe I should protect them. The carpet is mint but the pad has a a little more scuffing than when it had 5700 on it.
