Collision-Body shops experience
Unfortunately I had a fender bender with my V8V taking the hit. As I'm finding out, Aston certifies shops thus only they can purchase parts. They claim Authentic Aston parts, which is fine but I have an '09 and can live with authentic Aston parts from a former '09 V8V. after all they will need painting and as long as it's not damaged or deformed it will fit. That said I did a quick search for what body parts I know I'll need and many come up used. Typically there are cars who experience body ending wrecks but not from all sides so good parts survive.
I'm considering paying out of my pocket to avoid the hassle of increased premiums and who knows what else.
Does anyone have experience working with body shop outside the certification network that can conduct repairs? Have they been able to perform to standards?
Any of them in the Colorado Front Range Ft Collins to Colorado Springs)?
I appreciate any advice. Thanks

Your plan to use parts from a totalled Aston is not uncommon and likely to be an easier job. I've been extremely impressed with John May Custom Painting in Thornton. John's paint jobs look like colored mirrors.
There is a guy on eBay that posts a variety of used Aston Martin parts on a regular basis. I believe he has a business that deals in acquiring wrecked cars which he dismantles and sells parts for these cars.
Is it true astonmartinbits sells parts that might have minor imperfections? That's what a certified body shop said when refusing to use customer parts, only official AM parts ordered by the shop
Using a certified Aston Martin shop does not guarantee that they know exactly what to do and/or are the best at paintwork. I have seen some cars with body panels done by a certified AM facility that were nowhere near the quality I would expect. Ask around for who has the contract with the local high end dealers for shipping damages (Ferrari, Porsche, AM, etc.). Also, ask the local hot-rod community for who they recommend for paintwork. The shop I selected to paint my new bumpers and side sills has the contract with the local Ferrari store to repair their shipping issues. This is a Penske store with their own certified body shop, a shop that is also certified for AM. They recently had a LaFerrari Aptera in for some shipping touch-up. The same shop has restored and/or painted cars that have won Pebble Beach. People have looked at my car and say that the new panels look better than factory. It all comes down to doing your research.

If you are referring to the shop I used, no, it is in Arizona near Phoenix. www.finishingtouchaz.com
well if this place is in California I'd love to know about it!
I've heard good things about Harry's collision in LA, but that was a few years ago. In the OC approved is European Motor car Works.
