PPI Needed in Phoenix/Scottsdale Area
PPI Needed in Phoenix/Scottsdale Area
Considering purchasing an AM in the Scottsdale area and reached out to the local Penske Aston Martin dealer to be told they do not perform PPI's. Was quoted $740 for a CPO inspection in order to purchase the extended warranty, but was told they would not validate tire measurements, paint condition, etc...
Looking for a trusted independent shop in the area to perform the PPI asap. Any recommendations?

I don't know if they do ppi's. But you could give them a call

Thanks! Just gave them a call. $260 for a PPI; much better than the $540 I paid for our last Aston.
On a related note...Would a PPI typically cover all of the items an Aston dealer inspects in order to purchase an extended warranty? It sucks to pay for a PPI and an inspection, but I'm unaware of any other way to purchase an Aston extended warranty.

Yes, give British Auto AZ a go. They are knowledgeable and they perform work for several local owners. I do not use them personally as I perform all of my own work.
Which car are you looking at? Feel free to PM me.
To the best of my knowledge, to extend the warranty it needs a dealer inspection. A PPI from British Auto AZ would not work for that.

Keep in mind, without records for service, the PPI will tell you the car is solid and the mechanical condition, but they won't be able to tell you which annual service has been done to the car. Without those records, you'll need to complete all of them to be up-to-date. Going through this right now at my local dealer. Not that it's so expensive. I am doing my 8 year a little ahead of time which is around 2K. All the fluids and filters will be up to date. They'll also do complete go over the of the car.
I had a PPI by an indy (local Lotus dealer to the seller) before buying the car and they gave me a general "thumb's up", but car had no records with it. Only a few trips to the AM dealer over the years for this or that... AM dealer can tell you all the AM dealer related work. Look at the oil filter. If it's not an AM filter, that should give you an idea on the servicing levels the car had...
If you don't have records for all the service, I would concentrate on the body more if it's low mileage car and assume you'll need to be update at the dealer once you get the car.
