Charge/Condition Battery

i just noticed this +ve symbol on the cap under the hood. Can it be used to charge/condition battery ?

It should be a direct connection to the battery, so yes.

Springer is infamous around these parts
Per manual on my Virage, I have charged the battery using this as the positive post. However, I use battery maintainer plugged into 12V outlet in truck to maintain charge.

Thats the jumper cable connection point for a jump start .
I use trickle chargers on all my cars during long periods of non use .
I connected my trickle charger to a similar point on my 07 Vantage and it wouldnt charge .
I use the convenience socket in the trunk and its fine .
