I am really close to joining the Aston family and this very topic has me really torn. I think the black gauges in the GT look very cool and contemporary. On the other hand, the brushed silver gauges are classic Aston. Both are awesome which makes it hard to choose a definitive winner.

Even as a noob I agree with about the numeric spacing on the speedo. The range of needle sweep for the normal speed range is so ridiculously small that the speedo is almost useless. OTOH, I just consider that one of those Aston quirks that make the car special.

The black clusters were fitted to the S variants such as the DBS and V12V/S. The latter having a top end past 200.
same as the black badges over the normal green ones.
