I finally picked up a V8V!
Hey guys after searching all over the country for a V8 Vantage, I was finally able to source a car in my own city! I just picked up a 2009 Aston Martin Vantage V8 4.7 Sportshift 16k miles black on black. Pretty much exactly what I wanted from the start. I went back and forth between the 4.3 with a manual transmission or a 4.7 with the Sportshift and was really hoping that I would hate the Sportshift but I didn't. The car is completely stock with the exception of a newly installed clutch from AM and 20" Forgiato wheels (which I will be selling). Just needs a good paint correction and the common passenger side dash issue addressed but other than that it's the perfect candidate for a clean GT4-Street build. The plan is to do coilovers, brakes, wheels/tires, GT4 hood, grill, front lip, GT3 style rear diffuser and fixed wing, wrap, exhaust, fixed seats, etc. I look forward to finally participating in this AM section as an official owner!
I'll be starting a documented build on here in the next couple of weeks but here are a few pictures of how she currently sits: https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.6sp...bdfd773d9b.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.6sp...9f6db092ce.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.6sp...eba7b821b2.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.6sp...1748aac2c9.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.6sp...848cfe39c7.jpg https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.6sp...752e4f8620.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.6sp...514817cabb.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.6sp...0dcee52174.jpg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.6sp...4000252122.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.6sp...71ebee8f51.jpg |

Very nice one to start with, low miles and looks clean. +1 on ditching the wheels.

It's very similar to the GT8 which I'm seriously considering doing a build of (since it doesn't get sold in the US). Your only 50 miles from me (San Diego here). Congrats! Beautiful car, sans the wheels!
|
Congrats on the purchase and good luck on the build
|
Congratulations! I like black Paint on an Aston because they do such a great job painting. It is going to look amazing after paint correction. |
Beautiful - I agree the wheels detract form such a beautiful car. The grey on the rear valance just does not fit that beautiful black. The grill looks great against the black. Congrats.
A wing? chr |
looks good! I was just in the OC last week :) Missing the weather there for sure
Looking forward to the build and I also would ditch those horrible rims |
Thanks all! And yes the 20" Forgiato wheels will be the first to go (if anyone wants them with good tires for a good price).
