Am??????

i am considering buying a used one, probably a vantage or dbs. what should i look for other than good records and history, i do not have a local dealership so reliability is a must, how many miles is to many miles, etc. do not want to get into something that has a lot of quirks/issues that nickel and dime me to death and is annoying. this will not be a DD and may put 2500-3500 miles a year on it if that but i do want something i can get in and drive anytime i want like on a 3-400 mile road trip. whats the best years and most trouble free out there

First buy the 'book,' read it and then come back with more specific questions

I’m on my third Aston and they have all been just as reliable as my 911. Funny that the people in our Porsche club all like my Vantage. They haven’t seen the DB11 yet.

Buy the best car you can afford. Higher mileage cars cost less but if properly maintained can be better than a neglected low mileage car. Have the car inspected by an Aston dealer or an independent shop familiar with the cars. Unless the owner can provide service records and the car is up to date you can skip the inspection. My previous owner had over $15k in service work done a year before I bought it and in that time he only put a 1000 miles on the car. Tires, brakes, rotors, transmission oil lines, full fluid change, battery, ... At dealer prices can really add up

I have a low mileage 2007 DB9 and it has been extremely reliable, no surprises, some quirks. I was a Porsche guy before and I have no regrets with the car. For me it's one I will keep.
Do your homework, get the book, decide what you want, be willing to travel to find the right car.

Former Porsche owner here. The Aston is a completely different experience and one that I mostly prefer. My Porsche buddies love my car but for some reason keep buying GT3's.

Yep, former 944S, 996 & 997 owner here...

Porsche's are certainly wonderful cars. We all know that. I wanted something unique though. 911's are very common here in the Seattle region, and I like a bit of individuality. And in my experience, Porsche folk can be more than a bit judgmental, marque centrist, etc. I haven't found that attitude at all in the A/M community.
The driving experience of the Aston Martin is really superb. Try it out!

Make sure to drive the different models somehow before you really get down to picking where you want to focus. The book is ideal. If the car is pretty new, all the outstanding services would be less than 5K on a V8 at a dealer. So even if there were no records, you could get it up to date.

How close is the nearest dealer?
