Car won’t start, plz help! PATS system?
Hey all, happy new year!
So I’m having an issue with my 07 Vantage V8 manual. Car was running great and all was well.... I parked the car in the garage and carried on. I went into the garage a day or so later and noticed the dome light was still on??? Upon further inspection I realized when I shut down the car the key had seperated from the fob and was still in the ignition. I removed the key and clicked it back into place in the fob.
A few days later I went to start the car and nothing.... after some trouble shooting I attached it to a trickle charger and gave it 24 hours. Went to start it and still nothing? Upon start it says “key error, DSC service required, traction control off. Dash lights up with various lights, fuel gauge goes to full and a red light comes on and on the top left the PATS indicator is flashing steady. When i shut the car down the PATS indicator keeps flashing slowly. This leads me to believe, after research, the PATS system is engaged. I cannot figure out how to reset it?
Unfortunately the car only came with one key and the nearest dealer is a 1.5 hour tow. Ugh!!! I currently am disconnecting the battery for a few hours to see if that helps.
Any advice is is greatly appreciated! Thanks fellas and happy New Years again.....

Get a flashlight and a magnifying glass out and carefully look for a tick-tac shaped item somewhere in the drivers area... or where the key came apart. That's the transponder that resides in the key head. If you find it, just pull apart the key and refit it in the tube.
Thank you so much for the help. You were 100% correct. Bad news is I can’t find the transponder anywhere. Prob goin to run me about $750 for new keys, labor and the tow. At least I can get on with the repair now. What a freak acciedent!! Ugh.....
