Are my misfire correction factors working
Are my misfire correction factors working
Long time lurker on here. 2007 MY V8V owner.
Perhaps this is a question for Irish07.
Like many I've not been sure that my misfire correction factors are loaded. I've bought a Foxwell 520 and thought I'd seen the relevant entry. I then did the coastdown proceedure. The entry in question hadn't changed, to my irritation. I then did a more thorough search in the fields and found other potentially relevant fields. So, I'm not sure how they were reporting before I did the coastdown. So, my question is, based on the reading below, are my misfire correction factors in place and if so/not which is the key field? The field I thought it was first time out, and which makes me question whether the answer is yes despite having other potentially confirming factors is marked with a ***.
- Misfire monitor complete or not supported ------- Complete or NS
- Misfire monitor enabled --------- Not enabled ***
- Misfire monitor has run -------- Yes
- Currently misfiring ------- No
- Misfire has been monitored since power on ------- Yes
- Cumulative low word no of misfires -------- 2.00 (38,000 events)
- Misfire no calls (noise prevents accurate evaluation ------- 1.00
- Cumulative high word no of misfires ------ NA
- Misfire no calls (noise prevents accurate evaluation ------ NA
- 36-1 profile correction is learned? ------- Learned
- In gear (not in neutral or park or clutch depressed at time of misfire ----- Yes
That was the result of one interrogation. I've done others where the cumulative low word no of misfires reports as zero. The low word no calls appear to kick in about 2k rpm.
So, has my car got the misfire correction factors installed?
Thanks for any advice
