db9.2 vs rapide s

Drove a '13 db9.2 and loved the looks and feel of the car, however didn't enjoy the paddle shifting at all, the upshift specifically was really slow. I then got in an 8 speed rapide and loved every second of it, shifting the paddles was addictive and an absolute riot and I had just driven a pdk 991.2. Does anyone know if the 6 speed response in db9.2 was improved in later years say maybe on gt model?

Transmission are the same for all the 6 speed models at that point. Try driving the DB9 again without the flaps closed on the exhaust. Totally transforms the car. I don't feel the 6 speed is slow up or down shifting. Certainly there are faster ones, but it isn't going to change how fast I go into a corner or anything for the nature of the car.

Thx. I had sport engaged, is there something else that needs to be done to open them?

Sport is just a throttle mapping. To open the exhaust valves, it's a fuse removal or fuse replacement that works on a remote. Other wise you need to get above like 4K rpm for the valves to open. Not so much shifting happens that high. I like the way my 6 speed Rapide shifts over many paddle cars including the PDK. The only one recently I like more was my buddy's California; that is a sheer hoot for a paddle car.

Maybe it's a Rapide thing then, I literally couldn't tell the difference vs pdk. Shame as I like looks of db9 better.

*Sport mode changes throttle mapping, transmission shift points, and exhaust “flap” opening range.
