Sportshift Skipping Gears AM Vantage ‘13

I’ve been scouring the web for a similar thread but have yet to find one so I am posting looking for any insight or advice before a trip to the dealer.

2013 V8V - SportShft
Always driving in paddle shift mode never “D”
Always Clutch learn everytime. Been trying multiple before driving with no luck.

The car pulls strong in “sport” mode or standard mode out of 1st gear.

In non-sport mode it shifts and drives normally.

The last several drives when in “Sport” it intermittently skips gears ONLY upshifting - downshifting is normal.

most common is skipping 2-4 or 4-6

1-2 never missed and 6-7 never misses.

Any insights? Anything I can do at home before trip to a dealer?

I had my 6yr annual service performed less than a month ago and they didn’t mention anything aside from I may need a thermostat replacement in a little bit.

Thanks in advance - Taylor

What is the RPM range when this happens? Are you sure you are releasing the paddle + fully? Your at the mercy of a computer, it does what its told. Did you get a clutch life reading @ the 6-year. Miles on car...

usually shift between 3-5k rpm - I’ve driven the car about 10k miles and it’s only started recently...

I've tested a quick pull, slow pull, long pull on the paddle, a super quick pull seems to fair a little better.

I asked the dealer (Austin TX) if they could tell me the clutch life and they said no? Currently 40k miles on the car

Funny, most dealers are more than happy to get it, as a service to tell the lifespan. @40k miles you are most likely due for a clutch. Funny they would say you need a thermostat, but not read the clutch count.
