Maryland Inspection?
Thanks for all the replies everyone. Incredibly helpful. The clock was ticking on my 30 day temps, so I ended up using a small shop here near my house. Not ideal, but a bunch of folks in the neighborhood use them for occasional things and said they were always good and fair. Thanks for the tip on the jacking points Old_Phart. I did just that. Marked them with some yellow paint. Like Gotta mentioned, they had to to reach out to their local contact to get all the required measurements for certain things like brake wear, rotor specs, etc. So there were some delays, but all completed now thankfully. I am originally from the Catonsville area, so familiar with Caton Auto, Rick. Thanks for the tip. Will keep them in mind. I'll check into Gili's as well Gotta since they are really close. I think I have heard them mentioned on some of the Porsche forums as well. Anything to avoid the inflated costs at the Tysons dealer. I needed a new crystal key cut as well. So had no choice but a dealer on that one. And they gouged me $1,400 just for the freaking key. They wanted $900 for the little piece of plastic one as well. Unreal. And then another $250 to program it. So would love to find an indy in the DMV to do the basic maintenance and repair work.

V8Vdrew/eskanday: I just purchased a 2002 DB7 Volante--my first AM! I live in Annapolis, and appreciate your comments and suggestions on service options.
eskanday I've had several good conversations with Scott at Rosso Service, and I plan to give them a try for some items identified flagged in the PPI. I bought the DB7 in Connecticut, and had the PPI done at Miller Aston in Greenwich. They were great, and thorough in their inspection. Rosso isn't a licensed MSI site, but Scott has a nearby shop in mind he trusts.
V8Vdrew I'd be interested if you've had other work done at Eurosport Auto Care. I've driven by their shop many times on Central Ave, but never stopped in.
I'll keep an eye out for your AMs on the roads in this part of Maryland!

I have heard several good things about Rosso Service and they would be who I call first if my Vantage needed service. So far on my AM I have been able to do everything myself with the wonderful kits & guides provided by Redpants but I figure it's a when not if I'll have to get the timing cover gasket done.

Rosso Services is a well known place for AM for an indie shop, but I believe its in Forrest Hill Area, so quite a hike for us. I really like Eurosport Auto Care as that is right down the road. I havent taken the car to them for any work other than inspection yet. I plan to, if there is something I cant fix myself. Great price and serivce from just the small interaction Ive had.
I usually go to the Hunt Valley C&C or Potomac C&C and sometimes the Annapolis one. There is a local DMV Aston Owners Group on FB that you should join. We usually meet up for the meets and try to plan "spirited drives"
Hope to see you soon out there.
Andrew
Andrew: Thank you for the suggestions! I've been to Hunt Valley C&C with the Alfa Club--we do a Fall Foliage drive in October that starts at the C&C--I've not checked out the Potomac C&C.
The Classic Motor Museum in St. Michaels, MD sponsors a number of drives throughout the year on the Eastern Shore--I participate in as many of those as I can and there's often a contingent of modern exotics/supercars at those events.
I searched but didn't find the Aston DMV FB group you mentioned--do you have the name?

DB7 Ready for the Road!
After a comprehensive refresh at Rosso Service in Forest Hill, MD I passed the Maryland State Inspection yesterday--truly feels like the DB7 is now mine to drive.
Scott at Rosso was great to work with, and tackled the key PPI items as well as sorting out a range of worn and cracked hoses and gaskets. COVID lockdowns in the U.K. and a series of late winter storms impacted some parts deliveries, which stretched the process out longer than planned, but that's life in COVID times......
Key issues addressed were new spark plugs, battery, brake pads, rear brake rotors, hoses and gaskets for power steering and transmission, complete fluids flush and refresh, new tires and front end alignment. Nothing major, just catching up with the lack of scheduled maintenance on the car and getting a full reset for the future. I could have split the work up, but once it was in the shop, I wanted it done and to not be bringing it back for individual issues every few months.
For tires, the 19" wheels limited the options for an all-season tire, and we went with the new Continental DWS 06 Plus. My first choice was the Michelin, but they weren't available in the OEM specs. So far I like the feel of the Continentals, and will report experience after a few hundred miles.
Finding a licensed Maryland State Inspection Station willing to take on the DB7 was a challenge. V8Vdrew I did talk to Eurosport Auto Care, but they were booked up until mid-May, and I was already a month passed my temp registration. I will try them in the future--they were very receptive and friendly. I ultimately used a shop nearby in Annapolis that does a lot of work on Jaguars, and they were fine. They struggled to get the specs on a couple of items, and found little response from AM North America or nearby dealers--they were persistent and got it done.
Now off for detailing and ceramic coating--planning to use Reflected Images in Forest Hills, MD, recommended by Scott at Rosso. Will post pictures once that project is complete.

Very Nice! Glad everything worked out and you are up and running. I was thinking about heading to corridors and coffee tomorrow in laurel if you are interested. Its their first one of the year.
V8Vdrew: That's good news that Corridor is opening up again! Tomorrow is our first Alfa Club drive of the season, so hopefully weather will hold and we can get the Club back on the road. I'll look for your Vantage next time at Corridor--what color?
I also learned today benefits of franchise Maryland MVA services. With no appointments at MVA available for weeks, I wanted to get the temp registration off the car. When I picked up the DB7 after inspection, the shop owner recommended Fast & EZ Auto Tag and Title here in Annapolis. I had no idea Maryland offered an alternative to MVA. They were great--walked in with no appointment and out the door in 5 minutes. Socially distanced and plexiglass divider for safety. Truly outstanding service and a 5 minute drive from home. I wish I had known about this option years ago!
