I finally got around to replacing my failed ECU. The AM band hasn't worked since I bought it now she's 5:5

 

Now you need to replace that pesky ambient temp sensor!

 

Ah yes, Good eye my friend. I have a new sensor as well as a new serpentine belt and a set of pulleys going in next. Should be road ready in another week or three!

Following up this is a Volvo component. There are numerous posts by Volvo owners indicating a ground fault is suspected in the AM modules of the these Audio units.

 

I have never listened to AM radio band in my life.
I wouldn't even know if it's broken.

 

I do listen to the local and syndicated news casts on the AM band but the point is to have everything working as it should. I also acquired a spare set of keys which require programming plus the emergency skeleton key which needs to be cut to the VIN, an umbrella, car cover and an emergency First Aid Kit for the trunk. All the things that are inoperative or missing are being addressed over time.
