2020 Used Vantage Valuation Question

What do you all think of the pricing on the below vantage? Cargurus thinks it's incredibly well priced. If so, wonder why...and wonder if there is even more to be taken off since this is their starting point? I'd like to try for 115 or even less if possible

From what I was told over a year ago - that I could have any car sitting on the showroom floor for 20% off - then things got worse for Aston Martin, so my understanding now is 30% to 33% would not be a far fetched ask price for a new Aston on the showroom floor. My dealer, Morries dumped all of their Vantages except one - just have DB11's and DBS's now (and DBX when they come in).

interesting. i did hear something similar from a recent buyer about getting a big chunk off his new vantage. But does this logic go out the deal when dealing with used? The vantage I linked is a used 2020 with 1k miles. IDK how much stock to put into Cargurus' valuations but they're saying the asking price is I think $26,000 under market value. Would I still expect something like 20% off in addition? They ask $125k, have not contacted them yet though

Don't pay attention to CG price estimates...exotics have too many variables...That car is $166k msrp so it's almost a stripper...depending on your resale view that is good for folks who want into AM brand but not so if you want all the bells. $125k is retail/overpriced...I think max is $115K for this car and I would offer $110k and stop at $115k if you really want it...the dealer likely bought this car for ~$110k...vantage prices are going to tank in next 2-3 years due to the love/hate looks and this car might be worth $75-80k in 2023....it's a down market so don't pay up to limit your deprecation exposure...good luck

got it. appreciate the thoughts. do you think it more worthwhile to try to get into a 2018 v8 db11 for the same price if possible? high chance I use the purchase as my daily driver (but I only live 7 miles from my office so it's not a huge commute)

That's more of a personal preference...a DB11 is a pure GT car and not a canyon carver like the vantage...Buy whatever you enjoy driving at the best price you can...owning a AM is never financially rational..

Wow, when I wanted to buy a used Aston from Miller, they wouldn't lower their price $100 and low balled me so hard on my Vantage, you could hear the Vincent Price laugh for 50 yards. Drove 3 hours to see the and make a deal...

Good luck on any negotiation with them. Maybe in this climate they are different?
