2014 Rapide S vs 2015 Rapide S

Hey Guys,

Looking for a little help from some experts/enthusiasts I am currently shopping for a Rapide S and wondering if I should save the 20-25k and get a 2014 with 18,000kms with the 6 speed or jump up and pay 25k more for a 2015 with the 8 speed?

25k, wondering about resale 2-4 years out, am I going to feel like it's fast enough. Such difficult decisions

Save $25k. Deprecation will be all that in 4 years no matter which one you get.

Yes, drove the 8speed when it first came out. It does shift and drive smoother than the 6. But for the savings I don't think its worth it. Unless it a must have and your going to keep it 20 years.

It's not a must no, the interior of the 2015 is superior. Im just thinking of owning it for 2 years then switching it up.

Will likely be my daily so just wanted opinions on the two from people who have driven them. I actually havent even seen one in person lol

Have driven both. The 2015 will not seem faster but shifts faster to keep the RPM down and MPG better in automatic than the 6 speed. I always run in manual and enjoy the upper register of the gears with the longer time to 7k. Save the $ and enjoy....

If it was long term keeper I would say take the 8 speed, it is a phenomenal transmission so good I couldn’t differentiate it from a back to back drive with a Porsche PDK. For a short term car I don’t think it matters enough, the only thing that I could discern was a slower up shift on the 6 speed, the downshifting was the same on both.
